Quinzani: Good investment conditions in Smederevo

SMEDEREVO - The decision to invest in Smederevo was based on market research and conditions for development of the metal processing industry, CCVI International CEO Giordano Quinzani said in Smederevo as his company started building two production halls in the city on Saturday.

The cornerstone for the 4,000 sq m halls was laid by Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.

The investment is worth EUR 4 million and the works are due for completion in November, and the Italian company plans to hire 100 workers by the end of the year.

Speaking at the ceremony, Quinzani noted that, in addition to the good geographic position, the decision to invest in Smederevo was also due to the availability of high-quality workforce and support from the local authorities and the Serbian government.

Italian Ambassador to Serbia Giuseppe Manzo welcomed the Italian company to the large family of around 500 Italian companies operating in Serbia, which include major firms involved in the construction of the Rome airport and the World Trade Centre.

New Italian investments will contribute to the strategic development of this part of Serbia, which feels the impact of the economic crisis, Manzo said.
