Latest sex toy features contains … ashes of dead partner!

Promotional stunt, shades of necrophilia or … something that shouldn’t have made it off the drawing board?

Meet “21 Grams”, a creation by Dutch designer Mark Sturkenboom that entails a “memory box” containing a … dildo with a compartment for storing the ashes of the user’s… deceased partner!

We’re still in April, but it’s not April Fool’s Day.

Here’s the sales pitch on the site promoting the dildo-cum-ash carrier (no pun intended):

“… the box is made from layers of wood, which are glued together and hand-sanded to create the final shape then coated with a pale grey matt finish. It opens using a gold-plated brass key that can be worn as a necklace, and incorporates an amplifier for playing music from an iPhone that slots into the base … It also contains a scent diffuser and a small gold-plated urn that holds up to 21 grams of ashes inside a blown-glass dildo.”

The “21 grams” moniker refers to a belief that the human soul weighs 21 grams – or, so the website says — which would be 0.74 ounces if the soul exists in an “Imperial” environment.

The “sleek” contraption was unveiled during the Milan design week alongside other products by Sturkenboom.

A more platonic innovation is Katia Apalategui’s idea, which turns a deceased loved one’s scent into a …perfume.

Of course, someone could use both innovations in tandem, spraying the perfume on the vibrator.

According to a promotional video for the company Kalain, Apalategui and her son Florian recruited a team of chemists to develop the process to replicate the exact smell of a person and then bottle it.

Again, as this website claims: “…chemists from Havre university developed a technique of reproducing a person’s scent from their clothing over a period of four days.”
