PSD's Ponta: We are where we were three years ago; consistent and keeping our word

National leader of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) Prime Minister Victor Ponta mentioned, at the beginning of a meeting on Monday of the PSD National Standing Bureau, the third anniversary of the establishment of the Social Liberal Union (USL), the theme of a meeting in the evening at Parliament Palace.

'We are where we were three years ago. If people have changed their mind in the meantime and are now sharing their time with Mr Ungureanu and Mr Predoiu, Mrs Boagiu, Ialomiteanu et al [of the Democratic Liberal Party], it is their problem, not ours. We have been consistent and kept our word,' Ponta said at the PSD main offices.

He pointed out that the meeting of the National Standing Bureau is a special one conducted in the presence of the majority that three years ago signed on to a motion of censure that led to the Ungureanu Cabinet being toppled.

'Three years ago in Parliament we were very nervous. The others of you who were not in Parliament then were also anxious watching it on television. I believe three years is not too early to make a review of the period, see how many of the things we promised then on April 27, 2012, have been fulfilled and what remains to be done. I am asking and inviting all of those who voted for the motion back then to please join us, even if politics is still politics and things got parted,' said Ponta.

He added that the Government should also focus on the projects for the period immediately ahead.
