PAOK completes double in men's volleyball

PAOK has swept Olympiakos 3-0 in the best-of-five Volley League finals after its 3-0 set win on Wednesday, to win its first ever league in volleyball and complete its first double in any men?s sport in its history.

After winning the first two games in the final series with a 3-1 score in Thessaloniki and 3-2 at Piraeus, PAOK produced a stunning performance in Game 3 at home, in front of a capacity crowd of 8,500 fans, to beat the Reds 25-16, 25-19, 25-23 on the night.

Hundreds of fans stormed the court at the end of the game to celebrate peacefully, as the team of Giorgos Kalmazidis lifted the trophy at the PAOK Sports Arena, a few weeks after lifting the Greek Cup too.

Meanwhile AEK and MENT have been relegated to the A2 division.
