President Nikolic to visit Sarajevo in June

BELGRADE -- Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic will visit Sarajevo at the beginning of June, his foreign affairs adviser Ivan Mrkic has announced.

Mrkic told Belgrade-based daily Danas that the visit to Sarajevo had to wait until after elections in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

These elections were held on October 12, 2014, "but it took the country five months to set up all governmental bodies," Tanjug reported.

Mrkic said that Nikolic could soon also pay an official visit to Croatia.

"The Croatian president will soon invite (Nikolic), that is what I know. They already exchanged messages, all that is going well. Their cooperation will be excellent."

Asked why he thought so, Mrkic, who in the past served as foreign minister, said he "did not know why, but something tells him it will be so."

"I have 37 years of experience in diplomacy, and I think I can predict it," he was quoted as saying.
