Dodik: No one held responsible for suffering of Serbs

GRADISKA - It is not a good thing that no one has been held responsible for the crime that has the characteristics of genocide, Republika Srpska (RS) President Milorad Dodik said in Gradiska, RS, at a commemoration ceremony marking the 20 years since the exodus of Serbs during the Croatian Army's Operation Flash.

Last century and the suffering of Serbs from the first to the last years of the period has the characteristics of a genocide against Serbs, and this is very easy to prove, he said.

Dodik pointed out that massive and organized persecution of more than 100,000 Serbs from Slavonia was orchestrated, adding this was a genocide for which no one has been held accountable, on the contrary.

Croatia still celebrates the anniversary of Operation Flash as a victory, he said.

The commemoration event marking two decades since the exodus of Serbs from Western Slavonia to Gradiska was organized by the Association of Serbs Expelled from Western Slavonia, the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Municipality of Gradiska.

According to the data of several associations of Serb refugees from Croatia, during the Flash operation on May 1-2, 1995, 283 Serbs were killed or are still listed as missing, including 55 women and 11 children.
