Spanish cyclist wins sixth stage in Tour of Turkey

Spanish cyclist Pello Bilbao has won the sixth stage of the 51st Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey.

Bilbao completed the sixth day of the TUR 2015 tour for the Caja Rural-Seguros RGA team in four hours, 38 minutes and 46 seconds on May 1.
      
A total of 157 cyclists raced from the western province of Denizli to the Selçuk district in the central province of Konya.

Bilbao said his team was strong in climbing and wanted to achieve a good ranking in Saturday's race.

Miguel Lopez Moreno from Astana ranked second and another Caja Rural-Seguros RGA-cyclist, Parra Bustamente, came third in the 184-kilometer race.

Italian Sacha Modolo managed to secure his green jersey - which is given to the best sprinter - after winning the fifth stage, a 160 kilometer-long race from Mu?la to Pamukkale in Denizli Province in four hours, six minutes and 19 seconds on April 30.

Twenty one teams currently compete in eight stages of the 51st Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey, which began on April 26 in Turkey's Mediterranean resort town of Alanya and will last until May 3.

The tour hosts some of the world's elite competitors including British cyclist Mark Cavendish, who won the first two stages of the tour this year.

The 166-kilometer seventh stage of the tour will be held between Selçuk and ?zmir provinces.
