Princess meets the world without a name

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to their baby princess, fourth in line to the throne, was born at 8.34 a.m. on Saturday after a short labor. Following this the Duke of Cambridge was presented with a 3.7 kg baby.

The royal couple and their newborn left the hospital shortly after the birth and faced photographers and crowds of well-wishers before heading to Kensington Palace. The young baby was oblivious to the commotion.

It may be a few days before the princess has a name. It is unlikely that she will be called Diana after Prince William’s late mother. Alice is a favorite with several bookmakers, but other names featuring on the list include Charlotte, Elizabeth and Victoria.
