President Iohannis signs decrees recalling ambassadors

President Klaus Iohannis on Thursday signed decrees recalling some ambassadors, according to the Presidential Administration.

Thus, Ion Jinga is recalled from his mission as Romania's ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the UK; Mihnea Ioan Motoc is recalled from his office of head of Romania's Permanent Representation to the European Union; Maria Ciobanu is recalled from the office of head of Romania's Permanent Mission to the United Nations Office in Geneva and other Geneva-based international organisations; Iulian Buga is recalled as Romania's ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the US, while Daniela Anda Grigore-Gitman is recalled as Romania's ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Czech Republic.

Also recalled are Simona Mirela Miculescu as Romania's ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary and permanent representative to the United Nations Organisation in New York; Bogdan Mazuru as Romania's ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to France, Andorra and Monaco; Dana Raduta Matache as Romania's ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Sweden, as well as Nicolae Manolescu-Apolzan as Romania's permanent delegate with UNESCO, and Silvia Davidoiu as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Austria.

Last Thursday, President Iohannis approved proposals for the recall of the ambassadors mentioned above and for their redistribution to other missions, in accordance with the relevant constitutional provisions and after consultations with the prime minister and the foreign minister.
