East European Comic Con rolling in Bucharest, list of guest artists, actors rewards public's wait

The third edition of the East European Comic Con (EECC), an event gathering under one banner comic book artists, vendors, actors, cosplayers, gamers and boardgame enthusiasts, has started in Bucharest's Romexpo venue on Friday, Mircea Muresan, the EECC's director, estimating an attendance of around 30,000 during the convention's three days.

At the press conference held in the C1 pavilion of the Romexpo venue, which together with pavilions C2, C3, and C5 (Gaming) are host to the convention, three of the international guests of the con engaged the press: Robert Knepper (known to fans as Sullivan in the Heroes TV series or T-Bag in the Prison Break TV series), Manu Bennett (Crixus in the Spartacus TV series), and Osric Chau (Kevin Tran of Supernatural fame).

Manu Bennett said it is his first time visiting an Eastern European country and is delighted to meet new people and different cultures, while Robert Knepper mentioned it's not his first time in Romania.

I've been here before, thirty years ago. A lot has changed since then and I'm happy to see the changes that took place in Romania. (...) I was 25 years old, it was the time of the Securitate [e.n. ? Romanian Secret Police during the communist era]. We were trained by the CIA who told us that we can't do this, we can't do that and they were always looking towards me. I was the youngest actor in the company. It's one thing what you hear in America of communism, we saw movies about communism (...) but it's another thing to be here and see how the Securitate affected...
