Thunderstorms Expected Across Bulgaria

Rain, thunderstorms and hail are projected for today's May 24, according to the official data presented by the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

Weather will remain sunny up until the early afternoon, but as the day progresses, weather will get cloudier. Rain and thunderstorms are expected in Sofia, Vidin, Montana, Pleven, Blagoevgrad and Sandanski, and they most probably be accompanied by hails throughout the country. Harsh weather is also projected for the night prior to Monday.

Maximum temperatures will be close to 24-25° Celsius in the Western regions of the country.

Eastern Bulgaria will be enjoying slightly higher values, with maximums around 32° C.

Mountain regions will also experience sunny weather in first portion of the day, but cumulonimbus clouds are expected to take over, accompanied by moderate southeastern winds. Maximum temperatures above 1200 meters will be around 19° C.

Weather will remain partly cloudy along the Black Sea coast as well, with moderate eastern winds. Maximum temperatures will vary between 20° 23° C and the water will be slightly chillier - 18-20°.

It is expected that constant spring rains will stop during the upcoming weekend, starting May 29.
