"One in three people actually dies because of poverty-related reasons. The goal of the Romanian chapter of ASAP is to propose and support solutions to fight poverty on local, national, regional and global levels. The projects we consider are diverse: lobby, research to improve the methods of measuring poverty, collaboration to improve the public policies. In Romania we wish, first of all, to raise the public awareness about the problem of poverty," Ghica declared.

ASAP is an international network that helps researchers and professors to fight the global poverty; it supports the collaboration between academics worried about this phenomenon; it promotes the interaction with the political decision-makers and supports the translation of academic experience into intervention campaigns and projects.
