Football:Steaua Bucharest manages historic treble after Romanian Cup final win against Universitatea Cluj

Steaua Bucharest has managed to gain the Romanian Cup in football, on Sunday evening, on the National Arena of Bucharest, winning 3-0 (1-0) in the final against Universitatea Cluj and succeeding in writing history, being the first team to win the championship, the League Cup (official since 2014), and the Romanian Cup.

Steaua thus managed to complete its first successful double (championship and Romanian Cup) after 1997, the Army Men managing to win their 22nd Romanian Cup.

Steaua dominated the game through the goals scored by Adrian Popa early in each half (9, 53), who was named man of the match at the conclusion of the match, and Raul Rusescu (48), against a team who will play in the second tier of the Romanian championship next season. Universitatea Cluj has in its track record only one Romanian Cup, won in 1965, but had played three other finals, in 1934, defeated by Ripensia Timisoara, in 1942, defeated by Rapid Bucuresti, and in 1949, defeated by CSCA Bucharest, now named Steaua Bucharest.
