Anti-violence rally in Australia because the murder of Serbian teenager Masa Vukotic

The grieving mother of slain Serbian teenager Masa Vukotic has told she will join up to 1000 people on an anti-violence march in her daughter's honour.

The "Masa Vukotic March" will set out from the scene of the crime at Doncaster at 6am on June 15, and aims to cover the 18km to the city and arrive at Melbourne Magistrates' Court by 10am, in time for the next appearance of the man accused of her murder.

Ms Vukotic's mother, Natasa Celebic, said: "Life is very hard and I feel very low.

But I want to be there with all our supporters and go to court myself.

I want to march all the way there with everybody."

Ms Celebic said she was finding it "extremely difficult" to come to terms with the death of Masa (17), 11 weeks ago.

The Canterbury Secondary College student was stabbed to death on March 17, as she took a regular evening stroll along a footpath just 500m from her Doncaster home.

The Serbian-born Ms Celebic said she was trying to deal with her "terrible agony" by focusing on caring for her two other children, Petar, 16, and Nadja, 14.

Both siblings gave moving eulogies at their sister's emotional funeral at Springvale cemetery.

Masa's father, Slavoljub Vukotic, was the only member of the family present for the first appearance of Sean Price, 31, just days after the killing.

The organisers welcomed Ms Celebic's announcement she would attend, applauding her "strength and bravery".
