Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal K?l?çdaro?lu cast his vote at the Çankaya Arjantin Primary School on June 7 for the general elections.

K?l?çdaro?lu arrived at the school premises with his wife, Selvi K?l?çdaro?lu.

He made a statement to the press before leaving the school and expressed his hopes that the elections would enhance democracy, freedoms and wealth in Turkey, alongside his resentment over the unfair environment during the run-up to the elections.

"The campaign period was unequal. Turkey and the rest of the world know this. Nevertheless, we worked, and will continue to work, with a sense of responsibility," K?l?çdaro?lu said.

When asked whether any irregularities have been brought to the CHP's attention so far, K?l?çdaro?lu said that for now the process has been uneventful.

"So far, the elections are proceeding smoothly. The incident that saddened us the most is what happened in Diyarbak?r. We wish it never happened," K?l?çdaro?lu said, while praising the common sense that prevailed amongst the people of Diyarbak?r.
