Viki Stamati's sixth appeal for house arrest rejected

An Athens-based court on Wednesday rejected a sixth appeal by Viki Stamati, the wife of jailed former Defense Minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos, to have her prison sentence for money laundering commuted to house arrest, prompting Stamati to demand that the five-judge panel be replaced.

Tsochatzopoulos also reacted, describing the court?s decision as ?unacceptable and vindictive? and accusing the judges of ?executing orders.?

Stamati, who has sought house arrest so she can be with her young son, in April escaped from the Dromokaitio Hospital, a psychiatric clinic where she has been receiving treatment for depression.

Reacting on Wednesday, she said, ?Open up two graves today,? apparently referring to herself and her husband.
