PM’s companion to teach computer class at provincial uni

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ companion and the mother of his two young sons, Peristera “Betty” Baziana, continued her academic ascent this week in Greece’s state-only higher education system, with the University of Western Macedonia announcing that Baziana was hired to teach a once-a-week computer course at the provincial school.

The university, established only in 2004 in the northern Greece prefecture of Kozani and with classes in other nearby towns, said Baziana’s application was chosen as the best of all submitted entries by the engineering informatics department.

With that in mind, the companion of Greece’s premier will begin teaching a course entitled “Network Computers” to undergraduates of the department, which is based in the small inland industrial city of Kozani.

Baziana, who reportedly holds a Ph.D on the subject, was recently granted a temporary transfer to the Athens Polytechnic, the second in seniority university in the country. Her tenured position is as a secondary school educator.
