Ex-President's Election Videos Amuse Croatia

 

More than 160,000 viewers on Youtube across the Western Balkans region have been amused or bemused by some videos that former Croatian President Ivo Josipovic released on Sunday.

Videos showing Josipovic and people from his "Forwards Croatia - Progressive Alliance" party became an instant hit on Youtube, social networks and websites.

Some viewers have made fun of the videos on Josipovic's official Facebook page, while others looked on with more sympathy.

"Oh, my [dear] Josipovic; twice I gave you my voice in the elections, but seeing you goofing around like this, I [feel] truly sorry that I gave you my voice. Why couldn't you keep your dignity and return to the faculty [where he worked as professor before becoming president]?," Frane Tabula said in the comment section of the website of the daily Jutarnji list.

On Josipovic's Facebook profile, reader Vladimir Bogdanovic wrote: "Go home Ivo, you're drunk." On the other hand, Iva Gasparovic responded with, "The video is so lovable", while others wished Josipovic all the best in his campaign.

The Croatian news portal Index published a story on it, headlined "Saddest Farewell Letter from Politics: Ivo Josipovic and Two Wooden Sticks", alluding to Josipovic's tapping with two sticks in one video, before shouting "Forwards Croatia" along with people in the background.

 

Another promotional video for the upcoming parliamentary elections in November shows Josipovic from behind, while chatting with his colleagues, after which he turns around and says: "Responsible people for a successful Croatia".
