Turkish Police on Alert over Suspected Preparation of Major Terror Attack

Turkish police has been put on alert to capture four people, one of them a foreign national, suspected of preparing a major attack in the country, Turkish daily newspaper Hurriyet reported on Saturday.

The group of three man and one woman has recently entered the country from Syria after being instructed to carry out "a major attack, such as hijacking a plane or a ship, or attack the crowd during a rally", according to information from Turkish intelligence services, Hurriyet said.  

Three of the suspects are members of Turkey-based Dokumac?lar "extremist group"which is under investigation over suspected "recruiting of fighters" for Islamic State group, according to the news report. One of the two perpetrators of the suicide bombings in Ankara earlier this month and his brother, who carried out a similar suicide attack in Suruc in July were both members of Dokumac?lar.

Police have released to the media photocopies of the fake identity documents used by the four suspects as well as their real names.
