Bulgaria Local Elections: Yordanka Fandakova Reelected as Sofia Mayor - Poll

Incumbent mayor Yordanka Fandakova has been reelected for a third term as Mayor for Bulgaria's capital Sofia as the country is holding its local elections on Sunday, a first exit poll by Alpha Research agency shows.

Fandakova has won outright, with support (at 59.9%) that makes a second term redundant, according to the agency.

Final results, however, are not to follow until hours later.

If her results are confirmed, they will mark a 5-6% rise in her support compared to the 2011 election.

Fandakova is followed by Vili Lilkov, currently a municipal councilor from senior coalition partner Reformist Bloc, trailing behind at 9.5% (in a city the RB has expecte to be one of its strong positions).

The opposition Bulgarian Socialist Party's candidate Mihail Mirchev, the owner of ASSA-M polling agency, comes third at 8.0%.

Georgi Kadiev, an independent candidate endorsed by President (2002-2012) Georgi Parvanov's ABV party, has ranked fourth, at 7.0%.

More to follow.
