‘Lobster’ leads with four nominations in the European Film Awards

The film “Lobster” by Yorgos Lanthimos has been nominated in four categories in the European Film Awards which will take place in Berlin on December 12.

It is the first English-language film by Lanthimos which was filmed in Ireland and stars Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz.

Lobster received four nominations – Best European Film, Best European Director, Best European Actor, Best European Screenwriter- while it has already won the Jury Prize at the 68th Cannes Film Festival.

The story of the film is set in the future where single people are taken to The Hotel to find their matching mate within 45 days. If they fail, they are transformed into an animal and sent off into The Woods. In that setting, one man escapes into The Woods and falls in love with a woman, despite the rules of the Loners.
