New queries raised on the death of 4-year-old girl after a nasal surgery

New evidence on the death of the 4-year-old Melina Paraskaki after a routine nasal surgery was brought to light raising new questions on the reason of the death.

The child was hospitalized suffering from adenoid hypertrophy on December 28 in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the  University General Hospital of Heraklion, Crete.

After the surgery, doctors told parents that they were trying to wake up the child but she did not wake up and that she couldn’t breathe.

However, according to the statements of the anesthetist who was present, the girl did wake up and she even breathed normally without having any problem. But, after a while, the anesthetist realized that something went wrong, since the little girl suddenly could not breath.

Many questions on what happened have not yet been answered with the surgeons and the anesthetic presenting a different sequence of events while the fact that the Ministry of Health did not order a Sworn Administrative Inquiry to ensure the official recording of data and evidence has raised even more queries.
