Round 2 of ND leadership elections: Mitsotakis vs. Meimarakis

Just a few hours before the second round of elections for the new leadership of New Democracy, the two candidates, Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Vangelis Meimarakis, talked to reporters referring to their views and inviting the supporters of New Democracy to cast their vote on Sunday.

“I will be the opposite of Mr. Tsipras. I’ll be a politician who will represent seriously the country abroad” Kyriakos Mitsotakis said adding that “I’m sure I can beat Alexis Tsipras. SYRIZA is a party distinguished for its political impotence”.

“I wouldn’t say for anyone that he is the wrong solution, but I’m the right solution, the winning solution,” he said while he stressed that citizens want New Democracy to turn over a new leaf.

“Whatever the election result, I will keep fighting for New Democracy, as I have always done, Vangelis Meimarakis told Ant1 TV channel.

“We are not a socialist party, we want businessmen and owners of all means of production, but we want all social groups, the unemployed and the farmer, all of them” reiterated Mr. Meimarakis referring to his vision for New Democracy’s future.
