Spanish paraglider ‘dances’ with Aurora Borealis in Norway (pics+vid)

Spanish paraglider Horacio Llorens has fullfilled his lifetime ambition to paraglide through the Aurora Borealis.

He is one of the top acro-paragliders in the world and for many years he had been trying to make his dream true and flight through the elusive northern lights.

This event was made possible by Llorens’ sponsors – Red Bull, paramotor chassis company Kangook and motorcycle engine builder Polini – as well as by the Norwegian government, which granted the required permission.

The spectacular event was filmed by Red Bull showing the Spaniard gliding through the Northern Lights near Trømso, Norway.

“She’s shy, I asked her to dance many times, and she took a while to show up – but when she did, she was a beauty,” he said.

Llorens dedicated this flight to his cousin Alejandro Rodríguez, who died in a paragliding accident five years ago. “Flying in the night with the stars, it made me think about him,” Llorens said. “I think he is still with us flying when we are up in the air.”
