Bulgaria Warns of Potentially Dangerous Rainfall in Burgas Region  

Bulgaria's weather forecast service NIMH has issued Code Yellow alert for Burgas Region for Thursday, warning of potentially dangerous rainfall in the night to Friday.

Precipitation levels are expected to reach 15 to 25 liters per square meter in the southernmost areas of Burgas Region by midnight Thursday.

Snow instead of rain is expected to fall in Burgas region after midnight.

Rain is also falling in northeastern Bulgaria and the high plains of northern and western Bulgaria. Snow is expected to fall in those areas after midnight.

Air temperature has fallen sharply by Thursday afternoon in northern and western Bulgaria as strong northwestern winds brought a cold spell after several days of mild spring-like weather.

?emperatures remained higher in southern and eastern Bulgaria, measuring between 14 and 17 degrees Celsius at 2 p.m.

Temperature in Sofia was 4 degrees Celsius, 7-10 degrees in northern Bulgaria, 8 degrees in the northwestern regions.

The cold spell is expected to last through Friday.
