Rare photos of Marilyn Monroe go up for auction

A collection of rare and never-seen-before photos of Hollywood star Marilyn Monroe taken by one of her most devoted fans in the 1950s is up for auction.

The 183 images are included in the personal collection of James Collins which was a member of the ‘Monroe Six’, a group of fans who followed Monroe so often that she gave them special access into her life, as Daily Mail writes.

James’ snaphsots were taken in New York in the mid-1950s and some of them show Monroe wearing her famous white dress from the 1954 film The Seven Year Itch.

Other photos were even autographed by Marilyn herself.

The rare collection is being sold in 18 lots through Heritage Auctions in Dallas, Texas. The opening bids start at $400, but the sales price will climb as the images will be on the auction block for the next 12 days.
