Bulgaria Opposition Submits No-Confidence Motion over Healthcare Policies  

Sixty-nine members of Bulgarian parliament have submitted a motion of no confidence in the coalition government led by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov over the cabinet's policies in the healthcare sector, public radio bradcaster BNR reported on Thursday.

This is the first censure motion against the present minority coalition government led by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov which took office in November 2014.

The no-confidence motion was submitted by MPs from main opposition Socialist Party, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) and two independent MPs.

Debate on the no-confidence motion should be held no later than next Thursday.

The Bulgarian Socialist Party and DPS hold a total of 68 of the 240 seats in Parliament. Borisov's centre-right GERB party and its junior coalition partner Reformist Bloc control a total of 107 seats.
