European Council head Tusk essentially exposes Greek PM Tsipras in a tweet on EU-28 refugee crisis decision

European Council President Donald Tusk congratulated the countries that blocked their borders to irregular migrants in a tweet. His statement essentially exposes Greek PM Alexis Tsipras who had returned to Greece after the EU Summit on the refugee crisis claiming that the countries that had opted to control their borders from migration flows were isolated by the EU. Tsipras triumphantly said that the result of the EU Summit on Tuesday was that the countries erecting walls found themselves behind walls of isolation by the rest of Europe. Unfortunately for the Greek PM, only one day later Tusk praised the countries who were responsible enough to control their frontiers, something Tsipras’s government was either unable to do, or ideologically unwilling to do. Tusks’s two tweets read 1: “Irregular flows of migrants along Western Balkans route have come to an end. Not a question of unilateral actions but common EU28 decision”, while in his follow up tweet he made it clearer 2: “I thank Western Balkan countries for implementing part of EU’s comprehensive strategy to deal with migration crisis”.
