Financial crisis ‘hits’ Greek ‘lovers’

Greeks might have the reputation of being hot Mediterranean lovers, but it seems the economic crisis has taken its toll on them, as anxiety and uncertainty about their future has set in adversely affecting their performance. According to a well known condom company, Greeks have sex at least once a week on average, putting them first in the world. However, males around the age of 40 who are unemployed do not have the mood for any sex. Men generally continue to feel pressured about their sexual performance, as it is considered a sign of their masculinity. The problem is they refuse to visit therapists trying to solve their issues online or by talking with friends. Only the age group between 20 and 40 admit to having sexual problems. Greek women, on the other hand, consider matters of sexual nature taboo, as they have not claimed their right for sexual satisfaction, as faking orgasms is a widespread phenomenon. Sex in marriage is also affected, as routine eats away at the passion. Married couple have sexual intercourse more than 10 times a month during their first three years of marriage, with the rate falling below half that after the fifth year of marriage. The 7 year itch seems to be the turning point, as the sexual contact drops to once a month.
