Turkey Iran want closer economy ties

Turkey's Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani agreed on April 15 to improve economic cooperation, with banking a priority, prime ministry sources told Reuters, following the lifting of international sanctions on Iran.

The two countries also agreed to increase trade and mutual investments, the sources told Reuters. Anadolu Agency said th closed-door meeting between Davuto?lu and Rouhani lasted about two hours.

Turkish PM Davuto?lu visited Tehran in March. At the time, the two countries said they aimed to triple annual bilateral trade to $30 billion within two years.

Iran is frustrated that few trade deals have been implemented since the nuclear-related sanctions were lifted, as foreign banks still steer clear of processing transactions.

On April 15, it called on the United States and European Union to help it access the global financial system, but the White House said the nuclear deal did not include giving Tehran such access.First migrants arrive on Turkey's western coast under EU dealIstanbul's Be?ikta? returns to nest at brand new Vodafone ArenaErdo?an hosts Islamic Summit leaders on presidential yachtHalfeti - A town of mesmerizing beautyExhibition shows Istanbul through eyes of children Secret weapons of Turkish army: locally produced rocket launchers, missile systemsThe bugs of Ankara: The weirdest scenes that anyone can run into in Turkish capitalA bird's eye view tour of Turkey's eastern provinces of Van and HakkariTurkish man with four wives has his 32nd childTurkish police raid Koza ?pek's media HQ in Istanbul amid protestsTurkey celebrates Republic Day against backdrop of political turbulenceLocal authorities in Ad?yaman stir outcry for sitting under tent as schoolkids get wet US...
