Fajon: Serbian citizens make it clear they see their future in EU
BRUSSELS - Vice-Chair of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament (EP) Tanja Fajon Monday welcomed the results of the elections in Serbia as a decision of the majority of citizens to choose a political option committed to the EU path.
This is a clear message to political elites that Serbia see their future in a modern, economically successful and - in terms of democracy - developed society which is part of the EU family, Fajon said in a statement.
She added that the citizens of Serbia had shown their support for and delivered yet another mandate to painful but vital reforms, and for changes that would ensure better living standard and help prevent emigration of young people.
