Holy Fire from Jerusalem arrives in Kosovska Mitrovica

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - The Holy Fire from Jerusalem was on Monday welcomed for the second consecutive year by Christian Orthodox believers in the Church of St. Demetrius in Kosovska Mitrovica.

The Holy Fire, which had arrived from Jerusalem to Belgrade, was carried to the Gracanica monastery in the Diocese of Raska-Prizren and Kosovo-Metohija earlier in the day by Dusan Jovovic and Zeljko Jovic of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija, who were accompanied by members of the clergy.

The Holy Fire is a great blessing and a gift from God, abbot Stanisa Arsic said after the flame arrived at the Kosovska Mitrovica church.

It will also be carried to the Patriarchate of Pec and the Visoki Decani monastery.
