Turkish Airlines has increased the number of its flights to Moscow to 11 per day, making the Russian capital its top overseas destination with the most flights in one day.

The flagship carrier has increased the number of its daily flights to Vnukovo Airport, one of Moscow's biggest airports, to three from Istanbul, six from Antalya, and two from Ankara.

Airport officials also said the carrier is expected to increase the number of its flights from Moscow to the Mediterranean resort of Antalya to seven per day.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree that lifted the ban on charter air transportation between Russia and Turkey on Aug. 28, amid ongoing diplomatic rapprochement between Moscow and Ankara.
