Bled Strategic Forum reiterates need for leadership, reform to improve security

Common visions and seeking common solutions against the backdrop of growing uncertainty in the global arena were two main points highlighted by speakers at the opening, with PM Miro Cerar stressing that unless "we efficiently solve the problems of security and migration, we will not be able to focus our efforts on development issues like economy...and on our future as such".

Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec highlighted the need for a common vision and solidarity. He expressed hope that the BSF would help achieve this.

The topic was also taken up during the highlight of the first day, the leaders' debate featuring the Slovenian and Croatian presidents, Borut Pahor and Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, and Speaker of the Canadian Senate George Furey debating the challenges of leadership and vision.
