Reha Erdem big winner at Adana Film Festival

The 23rd Adana International Film Festival ended on Sept. 25 with the Best Film Award, presented to Reha Erdem's "Koca Dünya" (Big, Big World). 
 
A total of 18 awards were presented during the festival. Kıvanç Sezer's "Babamın Kanatları" (My Father's Wings) took home seven awards. 

Famous director Çağan Irmak, as well as best actress/actor contenders Tuba Büyüküstün, Demet Akbağ and Cem Yılmaz, failed to win an award. 

The Tarık Akan Best Actor Award, dedicated to veteran actor Tarık Akan, who recently died of cancer, went to Menderes Samancılar while Gizem Erdem won the Türkan Şoray Best Actress Award. 

During the festival, 250 films were screened at 636 screenings and 12 films competed in the National Feature Film Award competition. Famous director and script writer Tayfun Pirselimoğlu was the head of the jury.
