Fake Money Dealers in Bulgaria 'Turned Themselves In'

Two people allegedly involved in the distribution of counterfeit bank notes handed themselves over to police, shortly after EUR 12 in fake notes were found in a Bulgarian reservoir, local media report.

Atanas Angelov and Rumen Yankov, both from the southern Bulgarian town of Parvomay, showed up at the Plovdiv District Prosecutor's Office after news emerged about the notes taken out of the water.

Yankov has now been released on a BGN 5000 bail.

Angelov, however, may be remanded in custody aa the prosecutio's demand.

A third person was taken into custody in the operation, but the prosecuting authority declines to share more details as of the moment.
