Weather to turn from Monday night, with storms spreading across country

The unseasonably good weather is to take a turn for the worse with rain and storms forecast to begin in the northwest of the country on Monday and spread across the country over the coming days.

According to the National Meteorological Service (EMY), there will be hailstorms in parts too and stormy winds of between six and nine Beaufort.

The bad weather is to spread on Tuesday to the islands of the Ionian, Epirus, mainland Greece, Macedonia and Thrace.

On Wednesday, the western Peloponnese and Thrace will also be affected.

Winds will begin to fall from Wednesday evening across much of the country but will be felt until Thursday in western parts, Thrace and the islands of the eastern Aegean and Dodecanese.
