Djuric: Dialling code given to Kosovo as geographic region

BELGRADE - The Serbian government is satisfied with the agreement on telecommunications reached with Pristina, in particular with the fact that Telekom Srbija will officially operate in Kosovo as a company legally recognised by the international community and the Pristina institutions, says Marko Djuric, head of the government Office for Kosovo-Metohija.

The +383 dialling code is owned by Serbia and has been given to Kosovo as a geographical, rather than an international region, "like China has several dialling codes, such as one for the mainland and one for Hong Kong, another for Macau and another for Taiwan, and the UK has one for the mainland and another for the Falkland Islands," Djuric told a press conference called to provide accurate and full information on the conclusions on implementation of a 2013 agreement.
