Nikolic signs book of condolences for Castro

BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic signed at the Cuban embassy in Belgrade on Monday a book of condolences for Fidel Castro, the late leader of the Cuban revolution.

It is important that the ideas with which Castro liberated and led Cuba live on in the Cuban nation and leaders, Nikolic wrote in the message.

"The world has been left without one of the last greats. Fidel Castro is a symbol of a fighter for the freedom, sovereignty and happiness of his people," Nikolic wrote.

Today, Serbia has one great friend fewer, he noted.

"Hold your head up, Cuba, and continue on the path that ends in happiness," Nikolic wrote.
