Athens air service eases turbulence

In a bid to offer its passengers increased flexibility to while also trying to minimize the turbulence created by the US administration's decision to ban portable electronic devices in air cabins on flights from airports with a strong Islamic character, Dubai-based carrier Emirates has introduced a second daily flight from Athens to Dubai, which started last Monday.

The Athens-Dubai service effectively feeds the direct air link between Greece and the US, whose introduction last March filled a gap that had existed in flight services since 2012.

The implementation of the decision that had already been reached for an Athens stopover of the Dubai-Newark service was spurred by increased demand, and developments in the air market have proven it was the right move.
