After welcoming hundreds of guests - including regional leaders - for his formal inauguration on Friday evening, Vucic stated that Serbia has no higher priority than to cooperate with its neighbours.

"We want peace. There is no topic that we do not wish to discuss, no gap that we would not bridge.

"We do not have to build a new Yugoslavia, but we need to build a better tomorrow of our impoverished citizens," Vucic stated, as regional leaders who attended the inauguration were standing in the front row.

For over an hour, Vucic and his wife Tamara greeted guests, including Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch Irinej, presidents of Croatia, Montenegro and Macedonia and members of Bosnian tripartite presidency, as well as Dmitryi Rogozin, deputy Prime Minister of Russia and Hoyt Brian Yee, US Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs.

Also in attendance were former Serbian presidents Milan Milutinovic [1997 - 2002] and Tomislav Nikolic [2012 - 2017], as well as former President of Federal republic of Yugoslavia Zoran Lilic [1993 - 1997].
