In Pictures: Blazes Engulf Montenegrin, Croatian Coastline

Changing winds did nothing to help the hundreds of firefighters who were called in to try to tackle the infernos from both the ground and sky.

Dozens of people have been evacuated from their homes, with Montenegro issuing on Monday a request for international assistance in extinguishing the blazes, wanting the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism to be activated.
