Work gets under way to repair quake-damaged port in Kos

Work got under way on Thursday to repair the main port on the eastern Aegean island of Kos, which suffered extensive damage in a 6.6 magnitude earthquake on July 21.

The project is being supervised by the Infrastructure Ministry, though the municipal authority on Thursday said the repairs were a temporary solution and that it is in the process of drawing up a plan to completely overhaul the island's port facilities.
