Ljubljana hosts first Art Expo fair

More than 40 events will take place until 1 October. Visitors will be able to take part in a number of workshops and courses, enjoy music concerts and guided tours.

It is high time that Ljubljana started hosting an event like this, creative director Dorian Spanzel has said ahead of the fair. He hopes the Art Expo will grow bigger with time and become a recognised brand.

In order to build an international profile for the fair, Institute AAMI, which organises the event, opened an art gallery in the Czech capital of Prague last year and also plans a gallery in Hong Kong.

The two galleries will aim to promote Slovenian artists abroad as well as to create links with foreign artists inviting them to Slovenia.
