ATHEX: Small gains in quiet session

Investors engaged in reduced activity at the Greek bourse on Thursday, with trading volume dropping below 40 million euros, as they wait for developments on the fiscal and credit rating fronts.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 751.35 points, adding 0.37 percent to Wednesday's 748.61 points. The large-cap FTSE-26 index expanded 0.38 percent to close at 1,978.28 points.

The banks index rose 1.73 percent, with Piraeus jumping 4.10 percent, Alpha ascending 3.07 percent and National edging 0.69 percent higher, while Eurobank slipped 0.55 percent.

Public Power Corporation outperformed with 4.79 percent growth, and ADMIE Holdings, its former subsidiary, improved 1.62 percent. Viohalco gave up 1.92 percent, Mytilineos dropped 1.29 percent and Lamda Development shrank 1.23 percent.
