No rule of law yet in BiH, says Presidency chairman

Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina Chairman Dragan Covic said in Belgrade on Monday that the rule of law had not yet taken root in Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH).

"The judiciary of BiH must become independent, the Oric verdict is not the only example that has caused different comments and that burdens the three peoples in BiH," Covic said at a joint news conference with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

He referring to the acquittal last week of Naser Oric, a Bosniak (Muslim), who was accused of war crimes committed against Serbs.

Covic, who represents Croats in the tripartite Presidency, also said that "only one nation cannot dominate in BiH - and if it comes to changing the Constitution or Annex 4 of the Dayton Agreement, it will be done with the neighbors - Croatia and Serbia."
