Sex trafficking ring busted, 22 arrested

Police in Athens said on Monday they had smashed a prostitution and sex trafficking ring and arrested 22 people.

According to reports, the suspects face a wide range of charges, including sex trafficking, prostitution, forgery, possession of weapons, resisting arrest and others.

The gang allegedly persuaded Eastern European and Latin American women to come to Greece for legitimate work, but upon their arrival settled them in homes and hotels and forced them into prostitution.
