Dacic seizes opportunity to speak with Lavrov/VIDEO

Serbia's First Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic on Thursday had a brief conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Dacic and Lavrov are in Vienna, Austria today for the 24th OSCE Ministerial Council.

Tanjug reported that Dacic took the opportunity to speak with Lavrov for a few minutes before the start of the Council's plenary session.

According to the agency, Vienna is today the center of world diplomacy, with 41 foreign ministers taking part in the OSCE gathering, including Lavrov and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

Ukrainian crisis, but certainly also Wednesday's decision by the US to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital, will dominate the discussion, Tanjug said.

With this conference, Austria is finishing its one-year chairmanship of the OSCE and handing it over to Italy.

The Serbian government announced earlier that the main topics of this year Ministerial Council will be "non-proliferation of conflicts, strengthening of trust among participating countries and the fight against radicalization."

On the sidelines of the event, Dacic will have a series of bilateral meetings with ministers of OSCE member states, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
