EC wants Serbia to make further progress on EU path
BRUSSELS - The European Commission (EC) believes that Serbia, which has opened 12 and provisionally closed two chapters in its EU accession talks, is making good progress on the European path, and wants the country to keep this momentum going in 2018, Tanjug was told at the EC headquarters in Brussels.
"The EU is committed to maintaining this momentum and to opening several new chapters with Serbia in 2018. It is up to Serbia to set the pace of the talks, principally by making real and substantial progress in the field of rule of law. Progress in the dialogue with Kosovo and work towards comprehensive normalisation of relations will be crucial for Serbia's progress in the EU accession process," the EC said.
