Secretary of State Ciamba pays visit to HMS Duncan British destroyer and Gaziantep Turkish frigate

Secretary of State for Strategic and Bilateral Affairs in the Euro-Atlantic Space George Ciamba paid a visit on Friday to HMS Duncan British destroyer and Gaziantep Turkish frigate, on the occasion of the presence of the Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 in Constanta.

According to a Romanian Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) release, the Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 is conducting specific missions and operations in the Black Sea, in the period January 30 - February 17.

"In the spirit of the decisions adopted in the Warsaw Summit, these activities are part of intensifying the allied ship presence at the Black Sea, as response to the deterioration of the security situation in the region after 2014," MAE points out.
